Toshiba Satellite Radius 12

Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 Welcome to a Laptop AC Adapter specialist of the Toshiba Ac Adapter
While the Satellite Radius 12 doesn't have a lot of space on its side panels, the selection of ports is well-chosen. The system has a full-size HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports (one on each side of the laptop), and a single USB-C port. That's notable because some convertible systems like the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 and the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro both have smaller mini- and micro-HDMI ports that require adapters. Unfortunately, you can't use the USB-C connector to charge the laptop; instead, there's a traditional barrel-shaped connector for a proprietary AC adapter. The USB-C port is more of a future-proofing measure, so you'll be able to use upcoming peripherals equipped with the new interface.
The system comes with 8GB of system memory and a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD). Both aren't user-upgradable because the case is sealed. However, 8GB of memory is plenty if you're a casual user, although 16GB would give you better future-proofing. There are quite a few pre-installed apps on the system's SSD, including the usual suspects like Amazon, eBay, Groupon, Netflix, Next Issue, Wild Tangent, and WinZip with adapter like Toshiba PA3032U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3165U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3080U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3516U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3290U-2ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3381U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3097U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3396U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3467U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3380U-1ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3237U-3ACA Ac Adapter, Toshiba PA3283U-1ACA Ac Adapter. At least the McAfee LiveSafe Internet Security app comes with a 12-month subscription instead of a 30-day trial. Budget an hour or so to remove the programs you don't need. The system comes with a one-year warranty.
A sixth-generation Intel Core i7-6500U processor with Intel HD Graphics 520 provides the power for the Satellite Radius 12. It received a good score of 2,487 points on the PCMark 8 Work Conventional test, which is significantly ahead of the Intel-Core-M-equipped Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro (2,094). However, the Intel-Core-i7-equipped convertibles like the Acer Aspire R 13 (R7-371T-72TC) and the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-1in-1 Special Edition Laptop (7352) outperformed the system on the same test, with scores of 2,676 and 2,728, respectively. The Satellite Radius 12 is pretty fast on day-to-day tasks, but not necessarily the fastest. We also noticed that the active cooling fan on the system spooled up quite often when we were running tests or watching videos, and when the system performed updates in the background. It was a little distracting, particularly since the Yoga 3 Pro and other convertibles with Core M processors ran silently.
The Satellite Radius 12 had class-leading performance on two of our three multimedia tests, winning the Handbrake (2 minutes, 18 seconds) and the CineBench R15 (316 points) tests against other ultraportables like the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2:38 on Handbrake; 311 on CineBench) and other convertibles like the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 (3:00 on Handbrake; 261 on CineBench). The Satellite Radius 12's time on our Adobe Photoshop test is good (4:26), but the 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro (4:17) and the Acer Aspire R13 (4:19) are quicker. Basically, the system has the chops and benchmark performance numbers to breeze through photo and video work on the brilliant 4K screen.
While by no means should this be considered a gaming rig, the Satellite Radius 12 gets a boost from its latest-generation Intel integrated graphics. Its frame rates on the Heaven (21 frames per second or fps) and Valley (25fps) at Medium-quality settings aren't what we consider smoothly playable, but those scores are faster than all the convertible-hybrid laptops we use for comparison. Those systems barely made it into the mid-teens on both game tests. The Satellite Radius 12 also won on the 3DMark Cloud Gate (5,903 points) and 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme (376 points) tests. It's capable of playing 3D games like Diablo III and League of Legends at Light- to Medium-quality settings.
When it comes to battery life, the Satellite Radius 12 disappoints. On our rundown tests, the system lasted 5 hours 49 minutes. That doesn't sound too bad, until you compare it with the Dell Inspiron 13 7352 (7:37), the Lenovo LaVie Z 360 (8:06), and the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (11:10). The Satellite Radius 12's combination of a power-hungry 4K screen and small battery pack means that you'll need to plug into AC power more often than the other ultraportables and convertible-hybrids.
The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 P25W-C2300-4K is the modern equivalent of the Sony Video Walkman portable VCRs with built-in screens that we saw in the early 1990s. It's chock full of forward-looking technology, like a 4K screen, a sixth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, and a USB-C port, all in a compact package. However, its short battery life means you'll need to recharge the system fairly often. You'll have to make other concessions, like living with a smaller keyboard. The Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro remains our top pick for high-end convertible-hybrid laptops, with its long-lasting battery and innovative design. The Satellite Radius 12 is definitely a system to consider if you're a photographer or videographer who's tired of lugging a 15-inch laptop, and is willing to make some compromises in order to get a 4K display in a very portable package.
